Experience the history and splendor of Gilded Age Washington.
This 1905 Beaux Arts mansion was the home of American diplomat Larz Anderson
and his wife and is now the headquarters of The Society of the Cincinnati,
founded in 1783 to preserve the memory of the American Revolution. Stroll
through the first and second floors and explore the walled garden, not
normally open to the public. The current exhibition chronicles 226 years
of Society history and traditions through its triennial meetings.

Fondo del Sol is a bilingual, community-based museum dedicated to the
art and cultural heritage of the people of Latin America and the Caribbean.
In honour of the Museum's 36th anniversary, Fondo del Sol, presents 5
exhibits to the theme of Struggles for Freedom: Dino Aranda (Nicaragua),
Juan Downey (Chile, Videos), Juan Boza (Afro-Cubano), In Search of Lost
Iberia, Latina-USA, and Mexico (video, artists, children programs will

GFWC is an international women's organization dedicated to community improvement
through volunteer service. A National Historic Landmark, GFWC Headquarters
was built in 1875 and purchased by GFWC in 1922. The spacious historic
rooms showcase unique architectural features, murals, art, and artifacts
from the 1910s through the 1920s. Walk Weekend events include special
exhibits, live piano music, and light refreshments.

Explore the decoupage set designs and costumes created by H.R.H. Queen
Margrethe II of Denmark for the new film adaptation of the well-known
Hans Christian Andersen story, The Wild Swans. Visitors can experience
the green-screen technology that was used to make the film by seeing themselves
“projected” into the Queen’s designs. To augment this
display, original cut paper artworks created by Hans Christian Andersen
in the mid-19th century will also be on view.

National Museum of American Jewish Military History and the Jewish Study
Center present: Family Stories: Sons, Fathers, and Zaydes. Throughout
the afternoon participants will have up to ten minutes to tell their story

during the annual Celebration of Textiles festival. Watch fiber art demonstrations,

Explore the house and garden of our 28th president, Woodrow Wilson, Washington's
only presidential museum, a textbook of life in the 1920s. Enjoy Woodcarving
demonstrations, 1pm - 4pm, by members of the Eagle
Cane Project, providing wounded veterans with canes as
artistic representations of support and respect. Wilson House will donate
30% of Walk Weekend shop purchases to the Soldiers Angels on behalf of
