Stroll through the first and second floors of this 1905 Beaux-Arts
mansion and explore its walled garden, which is not normally open to the
public. The current exhibition features over twenty photographs of Anderson
House taken in 1910 by Francis Benjamin Johnston, one of the first American
women to achieve distinction as a photographer and noted D.C. resident.

art and cultural heritage of the people of Latin America and the Caribbean.

to Kabul. The show includes over 100 reproductions of photographs and
documents - many never shown before publicly - that chronicle early relations
between the United States and Afghanistan. Audiences will learn about
the first Afghan diplomatic mission to the U.S. in 1921, surprising cultural
exchanges, and other developments unknown to a post-9/11 world. This exhibit
